Rowell Ranch Junior Rodeo Queen
Ms. Cara Glaze
My name is Cara Glaze and I am excited and honored
to be your 2008-2009 Rowell Ranch Jr. Rodeo Queen! I
am 16 years old and next fall I will be a senior at
Castro Valley High School.
I
have been riding horses all of my life and I can’t
imagine a life without them. I compete in
barrel racing and goat tying in the NorCal Jr. Rodeo
Assoc. and the California High School Rodeo Assn. on
my two mares; Megan and Tinkerbelle. Besides
rodeo, I am also active in 4-H, participating in the
horse and beef projects. When I’m not
working with my animals or studying, I love to play
soccer, go snowboarding or go to the beach.
The
Rowell Ranch Jr. Rodeo is one of the very best
junior rodeos in the state and I want to thank the
rodeo committee and all of the local businesses and
individuals who provide sponsorship for the rodeo.
Without their hard work and generosity there
wouldn’t be an opportunity for young people to
compete locally in the sport that we love so much
and to do our part to carry on the tradition of
rodeo at Rowell Ranch.
This
year marks the 46th anniversary of the Rowell Ranch
Jr. Rodeo on August 2nd and 3rd and I hope to see
you there. There’ll be beautiful horses,
dangerous bulls and exciting competition from the
rodeo stars of tomorrow so grab your hats and your
boots; your friends and your family and come on out
to the rodeo. We’ll have a great time!

The 2008 Queen Contest was held on May 31st at Apple
Creek Farms in
Castro Valley.
The girls all had a great time competing through the
categories of appearance, personality, and
horsemanship.
Each contestant received a gift package of tack items.
